2024: What an amazing year it's been!

2024 EOY Assembly

Christine Sturt, MVPS P&C President addresses the MVPS End of Year Assembly

As we come to the end of another incredible year, I just want to take a moment to reflect on the fantastic year we’ve had as a school community and extend a huge thank you to everyone who has been involved with the P&C this year. Perhaps you’ve:

  • enjoyed one of our famous sausage sizzles?

  • picked a great gift for Mother’s Day or Father’s Day?

  • had a blast at this year’s Country Fair?

All of these fantastic events were put on by our small team of P&C volunteers.

This year’s fair was like no other! By working together, we made it better than ever! Every single one of you, parents, teachers and students brought that extra bit of magic. From making amazing artworks and poster designs to helping choose the rides and donating lollies for our yummy lolly bags – you all went above and beyond. THANK YOU for making it such a fantastic event.

Now, as we reach the end of another wonderful year, it’s the perfect time to reflect on everything we have to be grateful for – and here’s what I’m personally thankful for. I’m grateful for:

  • Our school, filled with happy, healthy kids, with incredible teachers and staff. Thank you to all of you!

  • A group of volunteers who give their time, energy, and effort to make this school even better. P&C, Reading Friends & Primary Ethics team, Thank you!

  • Our Year 6s, for those who helped move tables, chairs, and countless boxes for us. You were always willing to lend a helping hand – we thank you and we will miss you tremendously as you go on your next adventure to high school.

I also want to say a massive thank you to everyone who has contributed to the P&C this year. Whether you were front and centre, working quietly behind the scenes, or helping out in small ways, your efforts are deeply appreciated. You've all played a part in making this year a success, and we couldn’t have done it without you.

Roby Bryant Ethics Teacher

Rob Bryant’s, Primary Ethics Teacher farewell

I also want to give a special thank you to a wonderful volunteer teacher who some of you had the pleasure of being taught by: Mr. Rob Bryant. Mr. Bryant has been teaching Primary Ethics here for 6 years and this was his final year with us, with his daughter now heading off to high school, Mr Bryant will be following along with her. Thank you, Mr. Bryant, for all your hard work,

Finally, I would like to offer my congratulations to everyone on another fantastic year of learning. To the award recipients – well done! And to our amazing Year 6 families – high school, here you come! We know you’re going to smash your next chapter!

As we say goodbye to school for 2024, the P&C wishes you all a wonderful summer holiday filled with love, laughter, and relaxation. We can’t wait to see you all again in 2025 – recharged and ready for another year of excellence in education, inclusion, and community.

And remember, we need you all next year for an even better year, so sign up to be a member and check out all the amazing roles we have coming up at our AGM in March.

Thank you, and we’ll see you next year!
