MVPS P & C 2025: Vice-President's Welcome

AGM

With our AGM held recently, we welcomed many new members as well as returning members. I am excited to be stepping into the role of Vice-President for 2025. We also welcome David McSweeney as Treasurer, Saskia Sharp continuing her role as Communications Convenor, Kate Bult continuing as Clothing Pool Convener and Rohan McAlpine as Grants Officer.

On behalf of the P&C, I would like to thank the enormous efforts of our past committee, particularly Christine Sturt, Kate Bult, Jodie Phillip, Suzi Bryant, Camilla Gregg and Saskia Sharp, and am pleased that several have continued in executive roles and members of our sub-committees.

With several past members having students move into High School it is encouraging to have new faces attend our meetings – no doubt with a fresh outlook and renewed energy to build on past successes. I aim to support and encourage other parents to get involved in the P&C, whether big or small, through volunteering, attending meetings, becoming a member or stepping into an executive position, it is always much appreciated and truly rewarding to be a part of. Together, we can continue to build a school culture that promotes a positive and welcoming environment for everyone.

I believe in the positive impact that a strong and engaged P&C can have on our school community. Having been an active member in the past, I’ve seen firsthand the difference we can make when working together to support our school and its students. I am enthusiastic about helping to create an environment where both parents and students feel heard and supported.

What excites me most about the P&C this year is that, after several years of incredible fundraising, we’re now ready to invest those funds into building an even better school. Alongside the teachers and staff, we aim to create an enriching learning environment for everyone. A huge thank you to the entire school community and both past and present P&C members for your dedication and hard work—this success wouldn’t be possible without you. We look forward to welcoming back former P&C members and students to witness the impact of their contributions. We’re thrilled to see the funds put into action!

Ultimately, we want to help make this year one where everyone feels connected, valued and inspired to continue being a part of our school’s vibrant community.
