Roll up, roll up, it's the Country Fair!

The Moss Vale Public School Country Fair is fast approaching, and we’re all counting down the days until Friday 3rd November!

This year’s fair will have all your favourite attractions, such as lucky dips, face painting, showbags, sideshow alley, the lollipop raffle, farm animals, plant and gift stalls, the farmers market, low ropes from the Outdoor Education Group, live entertainment, the art auction, home-cooked food, more rides than ever before, and much, much more.

We're adding lots of new ways to have fun this year, with pony rides, a rock climbing wall, roaming dragon dancers, a dunk tank (which will become a GROSS dunk tank especially for our principal Mrs Hurst!) and foam sword fighting from our friends at Castelyn Medieval.

How you can help

With so much happening, we need the whole community to get behind the Country Fair - especially as we run all the food and market stalls ourselves. Of course we'd love you to sign up to volunteer on the day itself, but here are some other small ways you can help in the meantime:

  • Get planting. We need seedlings, flowers, fruit and veg, honey, herbs and plants of all kinds (but sorry, no eggs) to sell on our stalls.

  • Get making. If you're crafty, we'd love you to donate some of your handmade wares for us to sell, such as crochet, knitting, sewing or woodwork. We're also after decorations to brighten up the grounds, such as pom poms, bunting and paper lanterns.

  • Get mixing: Chutneys, jams and relishes are always popular items - please drop them off on fair day. Closer to the date, we'll also be asking for contributions to the cake stall.

  • Set aside something new. Please bring donations for our gift and mystery stalls in to school on fair day. Books, toys and household items are all great - as long as they're new.

  • Fill your coin jar: Start collecting coins and small notes to bring to the fair, as there won't be an ATM on site. Your kids can also use this small change to vote for which teacher should be dunked (and for just how gross Mrs Hurst's dunk tank will be) in the week of the fair.

  • Spread the word: Tell your friends and family to save the date - that's Friday 3 November, 4 till 7pm - and come along for some fabulous family fun!
